Our membership tiers are structured to ensure that both filmmakers and their audience are equally served. Our active members are encouraged to collaborate with one another, support our shared mission, and improve the overall health of a professional film and television community in our region. Friends of Film ensures that the broader public is directly connected to our artists, giving them an opportunity to grow their impact.

Active Membership

Active membership is designed for film industry professionals that live and work in the capital region of New York.


To qualify for active membership, you must:


  • reside in the capital region
  • Have at least one credited role on an independent or studio production
  • volunteer 4 hours per year for the organization

Friends of film is designed for anyone that wants to connect with local filmmakers; whether it’s to support them,

see their work, or learn from them.
